Pour Over Coffee Drip Recipe

A traditional and simple method of brewing coffee that brings out the natural flavors of the beans.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp coarsely ground coffee beans
  • Mug
  • Filter made of paper
  • 500 mL hot water (200 °F / 93 °C)
  • Pour into dripper

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 5 minutes
  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Instructions

  • Boil the water for a few minutes, then let it cool until it reaches the ideal temperature of 200°F - 93°C.
  • Set the pour over dripper on top of the mug and insert the paper filter.
  • Fill the filter halfway with ground coffee.
  • Pour about 50 ml of hot water over the grounds, spiralling outward from the centre.
  • Allow the coffee to bloom and release carbon dioxide for 30 seconds.
  • Pour the remaining water in a circular motion, keeping the water level constant, until 500 ml is reached.
  • Allow the coffee to finish dripping, which should take 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove and discard the filter.
  • Take pleasure in your freshly brewed pour over coffee.
